>From my vantage point along West Rock Ridge earlier today i scoped a pair of
Trumpeter Swans towards the south end of the pond - well removed from a group of
five mute swans. Others species noted within the pond included American Black
Duck, Mallard, Ring-necked Duck, Great Blue Heron and a mixed group of several
dozen Ring-billed and Herring Gulls. Along the ridge itself i encountered two,
possibly three, Peregrines, and only a single small mixed flock consisting of
Downy Woodpecker, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, and a
Golden-crowned Kinglet. Other birds along the way included a flock of ~ three
dozen American Robins, a few Turkey Vultures and a lone Hairy Woodpecker.
