I enjoy reading all the posts - I learn so much. Whether the bird is "Invasive" or resident to me it doesn't matter, they are here and they are all here to stay and I enjoy watching them and feeding them all. And yes, I know invasive birds aren't good but they were brought here and we must all live together. And Mike, yes, the Monks in Stratford since Sandy have seem to have become misplaced. I have had a few in my yard which I never had before but the places I was always guaranteed to find them, they aren't there. As I had reported to Kevin previously, the huge nests on the grounds of Shakespeare Theatre (some fell out of the trees) are conspicuously void of any Monks when I've visit there. Being so close to the River I know the trees received a lot of salt spray (as much of Stratford did even inland) so I wonder if that has affected the food chain somehow. Even the nests along Washington Parkway have been silent much to the enjoyment of daughter. The only group of Monks I have seen were in tree along Ferry Boulevard and only on one occasion. This past weekend I did see 5 Monks at Boothe Memorial Park - a much smaller number than typically is there. I wonder if the Milford Monks are missing as well?

1/9/13 Wilton, Schenks Island - 4 Monk Parakeets

10 am - Birding Schenks Island in Wilton Center this morning, I heard a
familiar raucous chatter approaching me. 4 Monk Parakeets overflew me headed
SE. I'd almost bet that was a first for WIlton. It was unusual because I
birded the Stratford/Lordship area the other day and saw none.
