1/18/13 - Sterling yard - PINE SISKIN (31) continue for the 110th consecutive day at feeders. Also EASTERN TOWHEE (2) and FOX SPARROW (3).
Plainfield, Quinebaug Fish Hatchery (3:30pm) - WINTER WREN in bramble near Pasture Pond sign. HERMIT THRUSH and RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET in mud where stream runs into Pasture Pond. Also several Golden-crowned Kinglets. RING-NECKED DUCK (31) on main pond.
Old Saybrook, Saybrook Pt. (1:00pm) - NORTHERN GANNET (5), LONG-TAILED DUCK (2) and GREATER SCAUP.
Old Saybrook, South Cove (12:20pm from the end of Atlantic Ave.) - GREEN-WINGED TEAL (3).
Quaker Hill, Scotch Cap Rd. (2:45pm) - FIELD SPARROW (3) in thicket at end of road across tracks.  Also AMERICAN COOT (8) and PIED-BILLED GREBE on river side of Smith Cove.
Madison, Hammonasset State Park  (9:30am) - WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL (2) and RED CROSSBILL (4) in lone pine behind main stand in West Beach parking lot.
