[CT Birds] Stratford Razorbills, Egret, Kestrels, etc.

1/21/2013  Stratford - Conditions this morning were perfect for scoping LI Sound 
- cold and calm with bright overcast.

Stratford Point - 4 RAZORBILLS (2 groups of two), 1 Surf Scoter, 29 Common Loon, 
39 Red-throated Loon, 4 Black-bellied Plovers, 42 Dunlin.
Short Beach (Dorne Dr.) - Red-breasted Nuthatch, 12 Red-winged Blackbirds.
Foot of Cove Place - 1 White-winged Scoter, 9 Common Loon, 42 Red-throated Loon, 
1 GRAY SEAL.
Lordship Seawall- 2 RAZORBILLS.
Long Beach (Oak Bluff Ave.) - 23 Horned Grebe, 140 Common Goldeneye, 540 
Long-tailed Duck.
McKinney Refuge (Long Beach Blvd) - 1 GREAT EGRET,  2 male Am. Kestrels, Belted 
Kingfisher, Northern Flicker, 5 Red-winged Blackbirds. Lynn Jones told me she 
saw a PALM WARBLER along the RR Trail.
Frash Pond-  1 Black-crowned Night-Heron, 23 Canvasback, 10 Ruddy Duck.
Birdseye boat ramp - 1 Double-crested Cormorant, 13 Am. Coot.
Raven Pond (Rt 110 = East Main St.) - male MALLARD X NORTHERN PINTAIL Hybrid.
