A magnificent sight between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. - a juvenile Golden Eagle
flying and circling from Lake Lillinonah; then headed northeast over Mitchell Farm;
circled back over the ridge closest to Interstate 84 and back again over Shepaug Dam.
White patches distinctly seen and tail also clearly white banded; ID'd by Terry Weaver and
all volunteer staff. See page 126 in The Sibley Guide to Birds.
Bird was photographed and hopefull y photos will be submitted to Shepaug Dam Site's page.
Terry said it's only his second sighting at Shepaug in the past eight years.
We had excellent looks as did many of the visitors this morning.
