Waterford-Harkness MSP - 16 + COMMON MURRES feeding off Harkness point in
front of Big mansion. Very difficult to ID with excessively strong winds
and chop. At first, two separate groups rafting and feeding through three
to five foot waves off point. Semi- single file working through surf.
They held in the tide with purpose. A very enjoyable but bitterly cold
experience. Group split into two smaller groups and rejoined towards
sunset. If you drew an imaginary line from Harkness point straight to
Fisher's Island, they were about 100 TO 150yds off shore. In addition, 4
- COMMON LOONS, 2-PURPLE SANDPIPERS feeding in between barnacle /seaweed
covered rocks, 6- RED BREASTED MERGANSERS, BRANT, 2-COMMON GOLDENEYE,
CANADA'S, a solo COMMON EIDER.
