I've been curious as to how the storm affected birds near the mouth of the Quinnipiac River, which I pass by on an almost daily basis.

Unusual observations at or near the Grand Ave bridge:

Thursday:   Red-throated loon
Saturday:   No buffleheads (and only a couple on Sunday)
Sunday:      Common mergansers in AM
                  Red-necked grebe in PM
Fox sparrow along banks in PM
Large numbers of geese on river in PM (200+)

I'm interested in other observations about how birds may be moving around in the wake of all this snow.
