This morning In riverside i noticed an unusual sight on the mianus river. About 40 common mergansers (the majority of which were male) grouped together towards the palmer hill/valley road bridge actively feeding. This is the highest number I have ever seen on the river. Normally I'll see them in groups of 3-5 every so often. I'm sure they're happy for the ice melt!
