I have yellow-bellied sapsuckers in my Bridgewater yard this morning. So, yep, guess it's time to put out the hummingbird feeders!

val melnikov, 04/08. Wheeler Boat ramp. Milford. 17:10. Low tide, three
small creeks running into one. Imagine a camera frame. At the top Great
Egret still as death, to the left and below a newly arrived cormorant
diving in the shallow water. At very right of frame a Snowy Egret going
about his business. At bottom what I think were Two Yellowlegs, Greater
or Lesser I could not tell as relection off water was too bright and
washed out their colors. Had they stood still for a moment it would have
been a Japanese wood cut. Dam fine day.

Louisiana Waterthrush calling repeatedly and very loudly by the brook.  Overcast conditions prevented me from seeing it.  They breed in my yard, so I will eventually see it near the house.  I also got an additional phoebe this morning.  Two red-shouldered hawks mating yesterday (I'm not exactly excited about them hanging around my yard but that is the way it is).

On a whim,I checked the hummer migration site last nite ( http://www.learner.org/jnorth/maps/humm_ruby_spring2013.html )
and found reports of hummers in CT and RI.  We were thinking it's way to early for the feeders to be out.
Opinions?
thanks,

Yes!  It may be too soon, but what if it isn't?  The Yellow-bellied
Sapsuckers have been reported here this week and the hummers follow them
up, drinking the sap they release.  We finally have some warm weather here,
so maybe it's time.

Our female osprey at the Coastal Center in Milford is sitting on her first egg. She will probably have another one tomorrow. Don't forget to join us for our Return of the Osprey Party on April 20th and see her on our closed-circuit screen. Call the number below to register.
