East Rock Park, 4/13 8:00-11:00 AM
Ranger Dan Barvir led a walk for the New Haven Bird Club. 39 bird species observed. Trip highlights include: Several GOLDEN-CROWNED and RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, PALM WARBLER, PINE WARBLERS, at least 3 BROWN CREEPERS, COMMON RAVEN, PEREGRINE FALCON, TREE SWALLOW, NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW, EASTERN PHOEBE, several OSPREY, 2 WOOD DUCKS, 2 BELTED KINGFISHER, DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS.

Following the bird walk, the participants assisted in some maintenance of the "Archery Field". Dan has cleaned out the field to make it a better bird habitat. If you haven't been there recently you will see a big change from the last time you visited.
