Seven years ago, in the spring of 2006, we had several days in a row of
easterly winds. Those winds blew in several Red Phalaropes that were found
on CT lakes and reservoirs. This year, the forecast is for easterly (or
southeasterly) winds for much of the next week. Especially this weekend,
there may be the chance to see these normally pelagic shorebirds from land.
Keep on the lookout!
