> 5/7/2013. I birded 1/2 day all around Stratford. The woods were terribly quiet. No Orioles, no thrushes (except robins), no tanagers, no vireos, 1 flycatcher (E. Kingbird), 1 warbler species (2 Yellows). Only 61 species. Silent spring! And very dry habitats.
> Highlights:
> - Short Beach - 475 Brant.
> - Long Beach - GLAUCOUS GULL (the lingering mystery white-winged, which looks most like a small GLGU).
> - Lordship Seawall/Russian Beach - 3 Common Terns (my first of year), 6 Red-breasted Mergansers, both loons.
> - McKinney Refuge (Long Beach Blvd) - Gadwall pair, 6 Boat-tailed Grackles.
> -Mac's Harbor (Shore Rd.) - 5 Yellow-crowned Night-Herons.
> - Boothe Park - Black Vulture, Red-tail, Red-shouldered Hawks, Peregrine.
> - Home - House Wren, nesting Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Gray Catbird, 4 Am. Goldfinch.
