[CT Birds] Greenwich Tod's Point Osprey Update May 23

Same story as yesterday on the Osprey nest at Greenwich Tod's Point. Mrs. O sits very low, and Mr. O watches from a vantage point to protect his area. I witnessed another Osprey fly into his domain. They circled high above for several minutes, the male higher above, 'watching'. As the intruder further invaded his space, he finally tucked his wings and dove as though fishing, but instead intercepted the new Osprey. After a low altitude chase, the intruder retired. Subsequently, Mr. O flew to a branch off to the side of the nest.

3 Yellow Warblers (seen - many more heard).
In a group at the entrance to the park at high tide were 8 Great Egrets and 4 Snowy Egrets feeding.

Flight of 12 Double Breasted Cormorants
1 Deer
