This past weekend, Litchfield Hills Area D had a late Blackpoll, as well as
Cerulean, Mourning and Worm-eating Warblers; a Winter Wren and an Acadian
Flycatcher. The Acadian Flycatcher has been consistent by Carter Road in
northern Kent. The others were mostly along the Appalachian Trail off River
Road in Sharon. Area D includes portions of southern Cornwall, northern
Kent, northwestern Warren and about three miles along the AT on the west side
of the Housatonic River.
Apparently unaware of the Murphy's Laws of Summer Bird Counts, a single,
Pine Siskin stopped by our feeders in the yard in Goshen, yesterday--a good
one for Ann Orsillo's Area F!
