>From Steve & Charla Spector:
Visited the Magicada Preserve at River Road in Hamden (site described precisely by Mark Scott) around 3:00 PM on 6/16/13: many cicadas still active, very loud chorus.  While many dead cicadas are around, many still flying; most males presumably at tree tops.  Birds at center of activity included Eastern Wood-Pewee, Red-eyed Vireo, Cedar Waxwings, Ovenbird, American Robin, American Crow.  At fringe of site, many House Sparrows; also House Finches, Blue Jays, Scarlet Tanager.  By time we left at 4:30 PM, heard no cicadas from River Road.
