[CT Birds] Peregrine chasing Osprey

Chris, I have seen a peregrine go at an osprey like a laser,
confronting it head on and forcing it to turn 90 degrees, and then
chasing it. What in the natural world causes this animosity? They
don't eat the same food, nor rob each other's nests? What then?
