[CT Birds] Seymour Nighthawks

I know tonight was 95% light gray clouds, humid and east winds.

But in previous nights this week, there was nothing more beautiful than nighthawks flopping (not flapping) their stiletto wings, on their way to Argentina, on a pink and yellow, partially cloudy, sunset.

Bill Banks started watching for Common Nighthawks at the Stop & Shop in Seymour at around 6:00 PM and had them right from the start.  I joined him around 6:30.  I totaled 29 before we left at 7:45, while Bill's total was over 50 because of he had the earlier birds.  While I was there they were coming through in small groups or singly, some feeding but most just migrating.

From Bill Banks with Roy Harvey:
08/29/13 - Seymour, Stop & Shop -- 6:00 to 7:45 PM; 50+ Common Nighthawks.
