Lake Chamberlain - Bethany - Bird seen in brushy area at SW corner of lake about 50 yards N of the W end of the dam.
The bird was a female type bird. It had a fairly white belly (no yellow), Prominent gold in wing-bar area. The face had an extensive faint triangular black patch (extending behind the eye) with lighter areas above and below it. Some very faint yellow in the crown. Face pattern seemed too extensive for a brewster's hybrid. After looking at several field guides I felt that the bird was consistent with a fall female type bird.
