9/15/13 - Sterling yard - 51 species (63 for the weekend) - flight calls this morning included, VEERY (7), ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK (10), WOOD THRUSH (4), SCARLET TANAGER (9) and SWAINSON'S THRUSH (2). This is only a fraction of birds that I heard. There were many birds in the air all calling simultaneously as they descended at dawn making it difficult to sort through. Many birds went unidentified and uncounted. Also in the yard today, WARBLING VIREO, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, INDIGO BUNTING, PILEATED WOODPECKER, MERLIN and a long overdue, first for the yard BAY-BREASTED WARBLER (#171).
