10/2 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 10AM-1PM, high tide
receding,
70F-80Fsunny,
The trees & bushes surrounding the building were "dripping" with birds :)
MOCKINGBIRDS, many YELLOW RUMPED WARBLERS, MAGNOLIA WARBLERS, GOLDEN CROWN
& RUBY CROWNED KINGLETS, 1 FEMALE SCARLET TANAGER, CATBIRDS, CHICKADEES,
CARDINALS, MOURNING DOVES, WHITE THROATED SPARROWS, heard CEDAR WAXWINGS;
on marsh were MALLARDS, D.C. CORMORANTS, MUTE SWANS, 2 JUVENILE YELLOW
CROWNED NIGHT HERONS-1 sunning.
At 12:40PM, the air over the marsh got very active-TREE SWALLOWS and either
juvenile TREE SWALLOWS, or possibly ROUGH WINGED (brownish tan on backs &
pale breasts); they were flying to fast for me to identify; dragonflies
all over.
A beautiful day to be out birding.
