Good advice, Frank.
I might be confusing it with another migrant, but isn't Northern Wheatear one that tends to have a rather narrow migration window? The RI bird today seemed late so I checked old CT reports going back to around 2001 and the latest fall report I could find was October 4 in 2009.

It's the time of year when exciting rare birds can show up in the northeast U.S. For example here's a couple from surrounding states:
10/17 NJ - GRAY KINGBIRD well photographed by Tom Johnson at Brigantine Forsythe NWR.
10/19 today RI - NORTHERN WHEATEAR at URI Peckham Farm in So. Kingston.
Keep your eyes to the skies.
