About ten minutes ago, i saw a clean adult light morph Swainson's Hawk fly just above tree top height across RT 6 in Brooklyn, CT just east of RT 169. The bird was lazily circling and gliding toward the ENE. I saw what appeared to be a long, pointed winged buteo circling as it glided along. The wings were held in a slight dihedral. Having seen six other Swainson's in CT and recognizing this shape, i pulled over to see the bird well from below. The dark trailing remiges contrasted well with pale buff underwing linings and a paler buff body. The dark contrasting hood with an obvious pale throat were distinctive. The under side of the spread tail was darkish, nearly like the wing feathers.

The bird crossed a grassy field and disappeared over the treeline.
