[CT Birds] twin lakes--red-necked grebe

Drove by the Twin Lakes late this afternoon, which were quiet except for two RED-NECKED GREBE. Slightly different plumages--one was very subtle, the other had more of a contrasting cheek pattern and a bit of rufous on the neck. They were off the boat launch and could be viewed quite well by walking out on the docks.

Also an Osprey, Common Raven, and Ring-billed Gull.

North of there, just over the Mass. line was a RUFFED GROUSE and a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
