11/8/13 - 7:10 to 8:10 - nice walk this morning from the treatment plant to the river and back.
Male Ring-Necked Pheasant flushed from corn field on north side of road - first one I've seen in many years; last was on Somers Prison Property in December 2007.
500+ RW Black Birds, mixed with some grackles, and a few starlings
8 White-throated Sparrows
20 Song Sparrows
2 American Tree Sparrows (fos)
1 singing Mocking Bird
100 Morning Doves
3 House Finches
4 Blue Jays
6 Canada Geese
Saw a RT Hawk carrying sticks to the nest located in the tree at the back of the field on the south side of the road. Unusual behavior for this time of year??
5 wood ducks flushed from the rivers edge near the boat launch.
