Bristol Reservoir #7 today

60 Plus Hooded Merganser - surley may more were around blind corner as well.
Seems the small ponds here in NW CT are all to mostly frozen, thus
a push for ducks to leave them to larger open waters. 
20 + Common Merganser
30 Mallard - not seen here often
6 Black Duck
1 Common Loon
2 Horned Greebe

Wilson and Bull ponds 90% frozen

Along Rt 72 Bristol/Harwinton by other Reservoir are many Tamarak trees. Many are loaded with cones.
I checked them out and here is what were in them eating the cone seeds.

Many Bluejay, Chickadee, Titmice
1 Red B Nuthatch
2 Purple finch
