Barnacle Goose has been full accepted by ARCC as a naturally occurring species in northeastern North America. ARCC made this move a number of years ago based on research on the increase and movements of Arctic-nesting geese, primarily from Greenland to Connecticut specifically. Since then a Barnacle Goose banded in Scotland has been documented in CT.

Jim, I think you can safely add the Barnacle Goose to your life list. For years this species was always suspect in regards to it being a countable bird. Especially if seen in the "wrong" time period. But in recent years there is a trend of it showing up in the late fall along with the Canada Geese. Maybe someone else would like to comment further?
