[CT Birds] Fork-tailed Flycatcher Wed 4:30pm

The entire royal family, House of Hadlyme, turned out for a late afternoon riparian treat, chilly as it was.

From Dan Rottino & family joined by 3 birders from upstate:
12/11/13--LYME, Hadlyme Ferry Slip- 3:55 to 4:33pm; 1 FORK-TAILED FLYCATCHER flew from the vine tangles by the ledge to a limb overhanging the road by the parking lot entrance.  It briefly flew across the road to perch in an ornamental berry bush where it appeared to catch insects kingbird fashion, and then back to the previous tree where it remained until we left.  A WINTER WREN was also heard.

A CT birder there prior to 3:55 had seen the FTFC and reported a Bald Eagle had been seen.
