Early morning 8 mile walk today felt more like winter in the mountains than
a ramble in SE Ct. Some notables while walking over Wawecus Hill included 4
Black Vultures, 2 Red-shouldered Hawks, 2 Winter Wrens, and a
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. The brilliant sunshine reflecting off the snow
made the ventral plumage of the vultures (both species) look jet black and
brilliant white. Really beautiful, the best they've ever looked!
