Breeding plumage Red-necked Grebe seen again, this time from a little park at the end of Harbor Drive past the Yacht Haven Marina in Shippan. This location is about a 5 minute drive past Czecik Marina where it was originally located and reported. This entire area is a nice place to view waterfowl close-up. Along the channel and around both marinas there was also a Red-throated Loon and a pair of Common Loons (couldn't have been closer), 28 Ruddy Ducks, many Lesser Scaup, 30+ Bufflehead, 3 Gadwall, Red-breasted and Hooded Mergansers, Horned Grebe, coot... It is really nice to be able to view these so close and appreciate the detail and iridescence.

Had my first Chipmunk of the year at Greenwich Point Park.
