3/23/14: in Woodbridge, at Konolds Pond: (OK, so the swan didn't really eat
Al): one TRUMPETER SWAN continues, feeding at the east side of the pond.
Also, there were 8+ Great Blue Heron, some of them working on their stick
nests at the top of the trees on the island at the south end of the pond
(fascinating to watch a rookery in action). Other waterfowl included: Wood
Duck, American Wigeon, Ring-necked Duck, American Coot, Bufflehead, and
Hooded and Common Merganser. There were two Great Egrets feeding at the
northwest corner of the pond. The pond is completely free of ice now.

At the Community Gardens: a pair of Eastern Bluebirds, several Fox Sparrow,
and a Hermit Thrush. Full reports on ebird.

Good birding,

Chris Loscalzo,
