Angela you are correct. Woodcock chicks are indeed precocial.

Subject: [CT Birds] Am. Woodcock - precocial?

4/19 from Angela Dimmitt
Sherman yard - my friend says the woodcock is back on the nest but wants to know how long after 20-21 days incubation before the chicks leave the nest? I suspect they are precocial and leave right away - can anybody tell me?
Thanks, Angela
