I enjoyed an awesome weekend of birding in Fairfield to jump-start the
month of May, notching seventeen species of wood-warbler in total, along
with a number of other migrants. A visit to the Birdcraft might have
boosted my total of seventeen up to nineteen, thanks to the awesome warbler
totals visitors were putting up, meaning there were probably twenty or more
warbler species in town during the first weekend of May.

>From Alex Burdo:
5/4 - Fairfield, Lake Mohegan -- I noted a slightly different species
composition than the day before, likely attributed to the generally good
migration periods Saturday night which presumably allowed some birds to
leave and a number to arrive. Counts of typical LM breeders were a lot
higher than the day before. Highlights: 4 Chimney Swift, 1 Eastern
Kingbird, 12 Warbling Vireo, 2 Red-eyed Vireo, 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 9 Wood Thrush, 11 Gray Catbird, 2 Ovenbird, 3
