Below is a message from the Great Gull team about upcoming opportunities to visit the island and help with this critical tern nesting area:

Greetings, GGIslanders -

A bit last minute, but here is the schedule for Spring Work Weekends:

May 2-4
May 9 - 11
May 16 - 18
May 23 - 26 (Memorial Day)
May 30 - June 1

FYI, the first two weekends will focus on carpentry, and the last two will be all about nest marking. Helen says there is lots to do, so looks forward to having lots of people come out!

To inspire you, attached are photos of the army's recent delivery of wood to the island -- wood which will be turned into Roseate nesting sites during carpentry work weekends. And below is a link to an article about this impressive event:

Helen hopes to see many of you on the island next month! You can let her know your plans/questions at hays at amnh.org<mailto:hays at amnh.org>.

Happy Spring -

- Doug
