[CT Birds] East Rock Highlights

5/2  New Haven/Hamden, East Rock Park - A great morning with a wide variety of newly-arrived migrants, we tallied 69 species. Highlights were 11 warbler species (Hooded, Worm-eating, Blue-winged, Black-throated Blue, Yellow, Yellow-rumped, Am. Redstart, Black-and-White, Northern Parula, Com Yellowthroat, No. Waterthrush), Green Heron, 2 Black Vultures, 3 Chimney Swifts, Peregrine Falcon, Eastern Kingbird, Blue-headed, Warbling, and Red-eyed Vireos, Wood Thrush, Gray Catbird, E. Towhee, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Orchard & Baltimore Orioles.  Lots of dazzling color on this beautiful spring day.
