They are apparently quite shorthanded on the work party this weekend at Great Gull Island. This has to be a full weekend commitment because of transportation issues. A boat will be leaving from Waterford on Friday Afternoon and one will be picking folks up from the island on Sunday afternoon/evening. The terns are back, and perhaps some Roseates will have arrived by the weekend. It can also be an amazing place to see migrant landbirds up close. Help is primarily needed with constructing the blinds that were damaged by Sandy, but there are tasks for all levels of physical exertion. Unfortunately, I have to work this weekend.
