5/10 Southbury, Bent of the River
At midday, Black-throated Blue warbler male slowly moving through the upland understory continuously singing classic tune along the trail about 100 feet northwest of staff parking lot above Clark House. Male white-breasted nuthatch doing protracted courtship ritual on large sycamore on hillside just northwest of Clark House lawn at hole on right side of large bare elbow branch: slowly outstretching both wings, leanining forward and spreading tail feathers wide, then in full pose turning sideways, stopping and repeating for 15 minutes. Mesmerizing.
