Subject: East Rock addendum

To follow up on previous posts about East Rock's wonderful day: warbler species totaled 22, including Tennessee, Wilson's, Canada (several), Blackburnian (several), Cape May (3) and bay-breasted. In the early afternoon Richard Payne discovered a white-eyed vireo along the river path. More notable perhaps was a striking concentration of common yellowthroats in that area. The ground and underbrush teemed with them, more males than females. At several spots we were able to count five males within a forty-foot stretch of the path.

From Mark Scott: 5/13/14 -- East Rock Park, Hamden -- in addition to the summer tanager, white-eyed vireo and 22 warbler species, including Tennessee, Wilson's, Canada, Blackburnian (several), Cape May (3) and bay-breasted.
