5/26/14 Wilton, River Road, Schenks Island Park - across from Stop&Shop supermarket - Mourning Warbler, Olive-sided Flycatcher

7 a.m. - Birdy morning in Wilton. Heard a Mourning Warbler calling from the west bank of the Norwalk River, south of the little footbridge. From the opposite side of the river, I kept up with the bird as it made it's way northward along the riverbank in heavy brush. Finally, it landed on a small branch in the open allowing a good solid look before flitting away to continue feeding. Walking back towards the parking lot, an Olive-sided Flycatcher was calling from a snag with it's whistly call. Also in the park was a moving YB Cuckoo and on overflight of 6 Black-crowned Night Herons in a loose formation.
