[CT Birds] Hammo SP: warblers, Willow Flycatchers, Thrashers, Sparrows, and shorebirds

Linda Vegliante and I spent the morn birding the areas of Willard Island and Cedar Island at Hammo SP.

Highlights --- 52 sp  today including: 7 warbler species in order of abundance:  Magnolias everywhere, Yellow, Common Yellowthroat, Blackpoll, Redstart, Chestnut-sided, Yellow-rumped; 2 Brown Thrashers together behind the outdoor restroom near Willard's Island; 1 Seaside Sparrow seen, several heard; Saltmarsh Sp. heard; 6 Willow Flycatchers, 1 Scarlet Tanager, RE and Warbling Vireo, and 1 Wood Pewee

Shorebirds and waders:

10 Glossy Ibis, along with several Snowy and Great Egrets
1 Little Blue Heron
2 Oystercatchers
40 Dunlin
20 BB Plovers
4 Semi-palmated Plovers
15 Semi-palmated Sandpipers
5 SB Dowitchers
1 Killdeer
Willets flying and vocalizing everywhere

Also lots of Least Terns
