[CT Birds] Out and about - Spotted Sandpipers and Killdeer

Hi Ben,

Yes. There were 5 Killdeer (2adult, 3 young) in the same field as the Spotted Sandpipers. The bobbing behavior of the Spotted caught my attention - Solitary Sandpipers also bob so you'll need to look at the other characteristics of the bird to rule out Solitary. A second flew in to hang out with the first so if you're lucky, they'll stick around and offer you some looks. Takes some patience too since they were disappearing periodically when they dipped behind the tilled field rows. The Killdeer are much more prominent and vocal.

Good luck!
