​7/9  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center  10-1PM  sunny, 85F, high
tide receding.
At 10AM, the male & female ospreys were on the nest with a large fish,
feeding chicks.  Male then flew to perch with fish.  At 10:20AM, the male
returned the fish to the nest and the female fed the chicks a long time.
On the grounds and marsh:
a family of 5 HOUSE FINCHES-male (bright orangey, red head and chest)
feeding two of the juveniles.  PURPLE MARTINS (adults & juveniles) at
gourds and flying through marsh,
1 MALE ORCHARD ORIOLE, feeding at trumpet honeysuckle vines, 1 MOCKINGBIRD,
AMERICAN ROBINS- many juveniles, MOURNING DOVES, CARDINALS, family of
STARLINGS, COMMON GRACKLES, SONG SPARROW.
