With Mike Warner & Stefan Martin

Sherman, Wimisink Marsh 10:45 AM.
Momma bittern was right infront of the platform actively hunting. Only one of the young ones was seen and it seems to have figured out how to hunt on its own (caught atleast one frog). Besides them 4 Hooded Mergansers, 5 Green Herons, Bank Swallows, Marsh Wrens, Swamp Sparrows

Litchfield, White Memorial 1:30 PM
2 VIRGINIA RAILS (seen/heard) on the Little Pond boardwalk. Also 2 BOBOLINKS, 3 ALDER FLYCATCHERS, 1 female PURPLE FINCH and a BROAD WINGED HAWK. A quick stop at Cemetery Pond yielded 3 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, 3 Green Herons and many Wood Ducks.

Good birding!
