8/17/14 - Sterling yard - 43 species - BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO, COMMON NIGHTHAWK (first of season), GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER, EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, BARRED OWL, flyover OSPREY and BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER (2).
8/17/14 - Plainfield, Quinebaug Fish Hatchery - GREEN HERON (2), SPOTTED SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER (4), AMERICAN KESTREL, WOOD DUCK (5), BELTED KINGFISHER (3) and Ruby-throated Hummingbird (6)  taking advantage of a huge amount of Jewel Weed blooming at the hatchery.
