[CT Birds] LPP Friday

9/19/14 - New Haven - Lighthouse Point Park Hawkwatch - 190 migrating
raptors of 12 species counted, including: 2 BLACK VULTURES, 2 PEREGRINE
FALCONS, 47 Osprey, 70 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 13 Cooper's Hawks, 6 Bald
Eagles, 21 American Kestrels, 4 Broad-winged Hawks, 6 Merlins, and a slew
of unidentified raptors in the blue sky conditions.  Also seen migrating
were 9 ruby-throated Hummingbirds, 450 Tree Swallows, 280 Cedar Waxwings, 8
Palm Warblers, 9 Blue-grey Gnatcatchers, 14 Warbler species, 1 American
Pipit, 1 Common Loon, and others.  In the park were 4 Common Nighthawks, 1
COMMON RAVEN, 1 Scarlet Tanager, several not yet migrating TVs, a
Red-shouldered Hawk, and several local Red-tailed Hawks.
Many thanks to intrepid observers Lynn James, Sol Satin, Howie Sternberg,
Matt Handi, Marty Moore, and Flo McBride.
