[CT Birds] Hummingbird frozen

At one time the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station was collecting birds with West Nile Virus for research.  You can check and see if they still are doing so.  There is an Ag Station in both Windsor and in New Haven

I will add a cautionary note.  Years ago when West Nile virus was first spreading in the US, I saw a house sparrow have a generalized convulsion and die.  I froze the critter and tried to get someone interested in looking at this bird's brain but no public health person was willing.  Subsequently house sparrow have proven to be the principal carriers of this now nationwide virus.  Fortunately, few people who are infected die, or even get sick.  Ask, why did your bird die?
