Yesterday I stopped in one of the Wallingford Open Space parcels on North
Branford Rd in Wallingford. After several passes at the far corner of one of
the meadows, two Northern Bobwhite¹s flushed and then disappeared into a
hedge row. More than likely escapees (especially so with the Wallingford Rod
& Gun Club in the vicinity); however, with the vast and ideal habitat in the
area, one could imagine (hope) for the possibility of a population
establishing itself.

Also seen a male Northern Harrier hunting low over the field and a
possible Vesper Sparrow (too brief of a view to call).
