Riverfront Park, Glastonbury, CT, 9 October 2014 7:00 AM: On my last couple
of visits, the weedy area to the southwest of the path by the dog play area
has been holding song, swamp, white-throated, and LINCOLN'S sparrows. Today
in the trees above, there were a BLUE-HEADED VIREO, a pair of PINE SISKINS,
at least one PURPLE FINCH, house finches, American goldfinches, and
yellow-bellied sapsuckers. The area gets busy about the same time as the
sunlight hits the trees. The field to the south of the dog play area was
mowed flat except at the center, so the weeds that held the savannah
sparrows, goldfinches, siskins, and palm warblers beside the walkway are now
