Spent an hour this morning near the intersection of Durkee Road and Four Bridges Road in Somers. There is a new housing development started on the north side of Durkee, and a lot of dirt piles covered in weeds, adjacent to some brushy edge habitat and corn fields. I had 7 sparrow species, including 21 Song, 11 Swamp, 2 Field, 45 Savanah (3 Ipswitch), 3 White-Throated, 1 Junco, and 2 White-Crowned (first Winter). Also had a Kestrel and a Sharp-shinned Hawk.
