Excellent day of hawkwatching here at Audubon Greenwich with a steady
stream of Sharp Shins, Coopers, several adult Red Shoulders and increasing
numbers of Vultures. The highlight of the day was an immature Goshawk seen
by 6 observers around 3:40.

While the hawks may have been the overall stars, our numerical stars today
were the geese. 3,067 Canadas, 50 Brant and a beautiful late day skein of
38 SNOW GEESE (FOS) were tallied.

Sparrows also continue to impress with several Lincolns, White-Crowned,
Savannah, Field and many Chippings around the front fields/orchard. A
Nashville Warbler and a Swainson's Thrush were also caught/banded today as
part of our scheduled banding workshop.

Many thanks to the 15+ observers who came to help out today and to the
Audubon staff for the baked goods and cider.
