10/29 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 10am-1PM, sunny &
overcast at times, 65F, low tide rising.
As the tide was coming in, a small "riverlet" occurs which usually
provides the birds with a nice feeding frenzy. Ring Billed, & herring
gulls along with 8 Yellowlegs( 3 Greater & 5 Lesser) were scooping into the
water with their bills and devouring whatever was there.
Also on the marsh: 1 juvenile Yellow crowned night heron,, a pair of
Mallards, 8 Black Ducks, 5 Great egrets, 4 Mute swans, 3 D.C. cormorants,
and 5 Brant showed up later in the morning.
On the grounds: 2 Mockingbirds, Cardinals, Chickadees, Yellow rumped
warblers, Ruby Crowned Kinglets and golden crowned kinglets, Carolina wren.
